China

What can I say about China… Hmm… It was… Interesting.  Exotic? Adventuresome? Amazing? Crowded?Dirty? Smelly? Crazy?  Yeah, It was all of those things and more!!!

We visited the forbidden city and the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall.

We stayed in a wonderful hostel, I’m certain the girls thought I’d lost my mind when the cab driver from the airport dropped us off at the end of a hutong (alleyway type place) and translated “100 meters that way” on his phone.  Other highlights included a visit to a street market where all manner of edible things were on sale.  We rode in a cable car up a mountain, in a subway that moves 7 million people per day.  Sara nearly got killed by a scooter and we logged an insane amount of miles on foot (including 12 miles in flip flops on the day we walked the forbidden city) and 120 flights of stairs on the day at the Great Wall

Right about here, Ashley and Sara both thought we were all going to become permanent grease spots on the wall!

The view from the top though, was worth it!

Now we’re off to Cambodia via south Korea

26.5 miles walked

Until later

So glad y’all had a good time and are out of China. I hope y’all are eating really good otherwise with all the walking y’all are doing you are all going to have to buy a smaller wardrobe when you get home. I love you all. Have fun and be careful.

  2. Bailey & Olivia

  3. Grandma

Ok Grandma will rest good tonight. I was afraid Ashley might get left this time. 😀😀. What an amazing trip you are having. I watched you fly from Korea to Cambodia. At least a simulation of you flying. 😀😀

What a fascinating place that must have been. You did a pretty good job of showing us all of the words you used to describe the place.

Wow, what an amazing place. Ashley, you look a bit exhausted in the picture with you and Sara sitting in front of the red building. I guess that would be in a good way, and expected considering the schedule you guys are keeping. Anyway, we are jealous. Enjoy the posts. Keep em coming.
